Lucas was an organized crime boss and heroin dealer who operated in Harlem during the late 1960s and early 1970s. His story was turned into the Hollywood movie, ‘American Gangster’. It is only after the release of the movie that I realized I had Frank Lucas on my contact sheets, so those photos are published for the first time.
