Washington, D.C. - February 15, 1972. André Malraux looks at the Ginevra de' Benci by Leonardo da Vinci at the National Gallery of Art during his trip to the United States. He (November 3, 1901 - November 23, 1976) was a French art theorist, novelist, he wrote the 1933 Prix Goncourt winning novel La Condition Humaine, and was the Minister for Cultural Affairs during Charles de Gaulle's presidency from 1959 - 1969.
