New York, NY, December 1974. Margaux Hemingway, granddaughter of writer Ernest Hemingway, and sister of the actress Mariel, has been the first fashion model who has been awarded a million dollars contract, by the company Fabergé, in 1970. <br />
On June 1975 she appeared on the cover of TIME who dubbed her one of the new beauties of the Planet. She died in Santa Monica, CA, on July 1, 1996 at age 42, committing suicide.
