Bogota, Colombia - The Gamines are abandoned kids at the age of 5 - 10 living in the streets of Bogota. They are robbers, beggers and addicted to sniffing gazoline. At night they all sleep together in city sewers. Child labor as seen around the world between 1979 and 1980 – Photographer Jean Pierre Laffont, touched by the suffering of child workers, chronicled their plight in 12 countries over the course of one year.  Laffont was awarded The World Press Award and Madeline Ross Award among many others for his work.
