Operation PUSH (People United to Serve Humanity) was founded by African-American, Reverend Jesse Jackson, a political activist for civic rights, notably those of the black community. During the operation thousands of protesters demonstrated, in front of the White House, for employment, against the rising cost of living, and the politics of American President Jimmy Carter.
