Guatemala Earthquake 1976

On February 4, 1976, Guatemala was struck by a major 7.5 magnitude earthquake, which contributed to the high death toll of 23.000 and about 80.000 wounded. It happened during the night and most adobe type houses in mountain villages collapsed. The reconstruction was difficult and lasted a couple of years.
